Honen-in Temple (Kyoto)

I begun painting it in August, but had to interupt works for month and half after two layers and part of third were done. When I managed to go back to work, I half forgot my original concept and the sistem and ways how I started to paint third layer what caused all trees abowe went totaly differently than I intended.I managed to recover my intended style just when I was finishing last branch. Unfortunately I made the very kind of "mistake" which is unrebarable doesn't matter what you are doing. I got angry and tucked painting under my armchair.
Before couple of days I mentioned this very painting to one of my watchers who urged me to finish it. Since I forgot original concept I considered painting quite acceptable and finaly done it.
....So, here is it. You can notice that right part of vefetation is more realistic and have more volume than the rest. That's the part wher I interupted painting for more than month.Whole rest of tird and forth layer went out differently.

I'm satisfied with painting but displeased with myself-pictures alwayes ends up as I want! Just this one....

( tempera, charcoal )

I can see what you mean about the difference in vegetation, but if you didn't point it out, it would slip my attention. I really like the branches on the left. I can see there some individual leafs, so this looks to me like really intricate work. Really well made, I love it! The grave on the right (I think that this is some kind of historic grave O-o) is really well made. The little fences around the graves really pop out.

Somebody told me that the artist itself is the best critic of his work. I must agree with that, but I need to add something: the artist could be a little bit tough sometimes on himself... The quality of your art is way beyond the average. It's not perfect, but it's so stunning that it makes people feel something...

Even after 1000 years of practice if you could live as long as that, you will not be perfect and will need some improvement in something :)

I always thought that canopy has something to do with the starfighers...
Love the green colours :) Even the spots :) The same deep green I love so much!

Dunno,I've no clue,it has more meanings.Means something as...vault(usualy made up of trees) or baldaquin or curtains upon bed...

Glad you like greens here, cause they are made up:D.My reference had just flat boring green in one or two tones.Had to change them in order to got volume.
